Beaches and sea
The Capoterra coast on the Gulf of Angels and the southern Sardinia beaches reachable in a day.
Capoterra faces the Gulf of Angels for about 8 km of coast, from the Rio Santa Lucia mouth to Riu Sa Tinta. Three main beaches serve the municipality (Maddalena, Sa Stoia, Frutti d'Oro), all reachable from the SS195 Sulcitana road. Within 20-45 minutes by car you reach the most famous beaches in southern Sardinia: Chia with its dunes, emerald Tuerredda, Nora with the Phoenician-Roman archaeological site.
Capoterra coastline
Beaches within the municipal territory, on the Gulf of Angels.

Maddalena Beach
The widest and best-equipped beach on the Capoterra coast, with a shallow shore suited to families with children. Light sand, transparent water. The Cayo Loco Beach Club hosts concerts, sailing schools and boat trips. It is the residents' default beach and has the highest density of facilities.

Sa Stoia
Equipped beach east of Maddalena, separated by the Rio San Girolamo mouth. Light sand, shallow waters, historical sailing school. It is the favorite of residents thanks to free parking and proximity to the town. In winter the nearby Capoterra wetland hosts pink flamingos.

Frutti d'Oro
At the southern end of the municipal coast, near SS195 km 16. Residential beach, used by visitors staying at the villas of the homonymous district. Sand mixed with small pebbles, choppier waters than Maddalena. Sunsets directly over the Sarroch headland.
The surroundings
Beaches reachable in a day from Capoterra (20-45 minutes). Pula, Domus de Maria, Teulada.

Chia
White sand dunes up to 20 m high, turquoise water and a Spanish coastal tower overlooking the bay. Regularly featured in Italy's best-beach rankings. Fills up early in summer: arrive in the morning or late afternoon.

Su Giudeu
Sheltered bay with a small islet reachable on foot at low tide. Shallow clear water, Mediterranean scrub all around. Crowded on summer weekends with Cagliari residents. Located between Chia and Tuerredda.

Tuerredda
Small cove protected by a rocky promontory, with an islet reachable by swim. Emerald water due to white sand bottom. In summer access is capped (1,100 people/day): book via the Teulada municipal app.

Nora
Golden sand right next to the Phoenician-Roman archaeological area of Nora. From the shore the columns and theatre ruins are visible. Less crowded than Chia, and the archaeological site deserves a visit (separate ticket).

Teulada coast
Quiet shoreline where Mediterranean scrub reaches the sea. Steep cliffs and coves accessible only on foot or by boat. No services: bring water and food. Cala Cipolla, Tuerredda and Capo Malfatano in succession.
